Houston Rodeo Show 2022 Performers
This year’s line-up will feature some classic H Town Country favorites, sharing stages with a variety of big names to cover anyone’s musical fancy. Texas legend George Strait will headline the show to close out the panel of this year’s artists with a full-length performance on the evening of March 20th.
Another Lone Star native, Cody Johnson, who burst onto the country music scene in 2014, will feature at this year’s rodeo. Johnson has also been named the Grand Marshal of the Downtown Rodeo Annual Parade as we kick off the celebration of our western heritage on Saturday, February 26th. Johnson has become the sound of Rodeo season with his song “Welcome to the Show” nominated as the official song for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2022.
Performing on the Rodeo’s Armed Forces Appreciation Day, Rodeo Houston’s country favorite, Tim McGraw, will be there to rock your kicks off.
Or how about taking a blast back to the 90s with Puerto Rico pop icon Ricky Martin to ramp up the party? He’ll be joined with No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani on another stage performing for the first time at RodeoHouston!
There are plenty of other artists to enjoy in the spectacular entertainer lineup, including American rock gods Journey, Khalid, electro-pop musician Marshmellow, Latin pop quintuple Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Singer-songwriter Sam Hunt, country songbird Maren Morris and so many more! The music alone is reason enough to head out and soak up the ambiance!
Is the Houston Rodeo the largest in the world?
The Houston Rodeo is the biggest Livestock exhibition and Rodeo the world has seen. Since 2003, the event has been held at H Town’s own NRG Park Stadium, offering one of the richest professional rodeo gatherings around the globe.
The last bash was staged in 2019 and attracted a whopping 2.5 million attendees from 75 countries over the 24-day festival.
The event is a true salute to Texan culture, with Livestock exhibits, Bar-B-Que competitions, the Downtown Rodeo Parade, championship rodeo action, and days of star-studded live music from some of the biggest names in the United States!
You can even go along to enjoy the carnival, the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run, and the international wine competition – not to mention sales and livestock auctions. Many locals hold the Houston Rodeo dear to their hearts. It’s even considered to be Houston’s ‘signature event.’
How long is the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo?
The Houston Rodeo runs for 20 days of excitement, adventure, and good-spirited mayhem, all in our Texan backyard. This year the Downtown Rodeo Annual Parade will kick off the event on Saturday, February 26th, and the official Rodeo will begin on Monday, February 28th.
During the final evening of the rodeo, George Strait will consummate the grand celebration with a full-length show on the evening of March 20th.
