The first family moved to the subdivision in late October of 1954. They quickly realized that there was no school, park, or golf course close by for their children so they built one themselves! That’s a whopping increase rate of 100% each year for 5 years straight! In 1986 officials passed an election with the Home Rule Charter which gave them more taxation power than before as well as increased governing rules when under General Law jurisdiction. The population continued growing throughout 1988-90 reaching nearly 6 thousand by 1990.
